hmm, while I'm liking some of the subtle changes to cZ's UI, there seems to be some places where the changes may not stick somehow
-
tomman
for example, I have a custom motif defined (well, I just downloaded the default one)
-
tomman
it sticks to all the channels I use regularly
-
tomman
but when someone PMs me, or I enter some new channel, the motif CSS doesn't seem to apply at all, and everything looks weird
-
tomman
A good example: the topic line at the top of the chat tab is supposed to be surrounded by a border. This works normally
-
tomman
but when sometimes "stalks" me, or I join some previously unknown channel, that area gets no border!
-
frg_Away
tomman best to ask IanN_Away after the meeting tomorrow or open a bug.
-
njsg
tomman: just to clarify, this is with SeaMonkey Modern or Default? And it also happens wih the "default" motif (dark or light?) or only with your custom motif?
-
tomman
njsg: Default, and haven't tried with other motifs
-
tomman
-
njsg_
... what did I just do
-
njsg_
I managed to end up with one view in one motif, and the rest with another motif
-
njsg_
Uh, now I can't change the motif for this view - the #SeaMonkey one
-
njsg_
did I just hit some feature to have different motifs or what?
-
njsg_
Hm, need to restart to get the "console" output
-
njsg_
Nevermind, I feel stupid, I tried to add a custom motif and added it to the wrong place, that's why this view didn't change. Even then, the nick list would momentarily switch to the globally chosen motif on change?
-
njsg
tomman: so far the only thing I could find similar to that is that if extensions.irc.motif.current and extensions.irc.networks.libera-chat.motif.current are empty, new tabs will not get styled by a motif, but this would be then unrelated to Cz changes
-
njsg
(these being the preferences for Appearance > Motifs > Current Motif for "Global settings" and "libera.chat" in the Chatzilla preferences)
-
tomman
njsg_: just checked, and nope, they're not empty
-
njsg
tomman: actually, can you check if all looks correct when you have two tabs that are styled differently?
-
njsg
I mean, not that I think I'm onto something here, but sounds like a nice check to know what's there
-
tomman
Hmmm, I use the same motif for all of my tabs
-
tomman
let me check then...
-
njsg
I guess for easeness about:config might be good
-
njsg_
filtering by ".motif" is probably enough
-
tomman
OK, found something interesting
-
tomman
I joined some random channel at libera that doesn't exist
-
tomman
it got no motif applied at all, just something that looked broken
-
tomman
instead of the default one I have set for the network
-
tomman
or even the global one
-
tomman
(which are all the same)
-
tomman
So I went and played with the "dark/clear" styles on the menu (which I guess are new, they weren't there on previous releases)
-
tomman
the styles changed accordingly
-
tomman
(these are built-in motifs after all)
-
tomman
And then I dragged the
chatzilla.hacksrus.com/motifs/output-default.css motif over that tab and... that worked too!
-
tomman
Even weirder: I now join other unknown channels, and my motif sticks
-
tomman
weird, it even now sticks across other networks too
-
tomman
Let me try restarting everything here...
-
tomman
hmmm, now it seems everything sticks as it should be
