now I have ltsc 2021 which is NOT broken.. well anymore than windows 10 normally is.. and can grub boot isos on a flash drive.. unified install media .. ALMOST and one of those isos is a cinnamon live cd currently fedora so I can FIX MY BOOTLOADER WHEN EFI OR WINDOWS MESSES WITH IT.. which I find important for every day functioning of my computerized workcenter

also i mangled centos 6 onto here and booted it with my 6.10.x kernel.. after bypassing disk check which is failing likely cause kernel abi and udev complaining SLIGHTLY it otherwise booted up into gnome2 per normal .. full resolution

having the kernel be userspace agnostic is so freakin amazing

I usually use a legacy 500GB SSD as bootdisc. If Linux is on it with grub. Set Windows boot opttions to legacy too. The new loader s*cks.

bcdedit /set {current} bootmenupolicy legacy

yeah i had to refresh my bcd edit skills to get the bcd store on my nvme the copy that lives along side my standalone grub to work.. i just leave windows and its installed bootmgr to its own self if i can get the installer to NOT touch ANY other drive.. which is tricky

I usualy don't reinstall Windows. Just use an image and the Acronis reovery disc. Unlike the base product it was great till 2019. Then they switched to a new format and now its junk too. Must be prograss :)

yes new tibx format and first time I got a restore error. Common problem it seems.
