tommanoh my god, found a website that gets VERY ANGRY if I fire up devtools!
-
tommanIt's... a file locker
-
tommanneed to export some cookies to please JDownloader, and of course the site doesn't work on SM, so I fire up FFESR
-
tommanwhen I open Devtools... the site REDIRECTS TO ABOUT:BLANK
-
tommanno matter how hard I mash Escape
-
tommanthis is... war
-
tommanhow sites can even detect Devtools?!
-
tomman(site is terabox.com )
-
tomman...and of course FF no longer has a built-in cookie viewer other than devtools
-
tommanwindowsonarm.org another follower of the Church of Chrome
-
tommanit dies with a WSoD
-
tomman> Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).
-
tommanand the only relevant exception logged on console is...
-
tomman> DOMException: "Animation to or from an underlying value is not yet supported."7515-f4b4fc66c30cb691.js:1:3972
-
tommanthe actual page flashes for a split second, then it WSoD's and the entire DOM of course gets wiped
-

-
tomman...hmmm, Chrome actually came up late with this one, iiiiinteresting
-
tommanFF introduced it with FF48, but many bits came later, culminating with full support as of FF75
-
tommansome pieces came in 59 and 63

-
franstamtomman, whats really the point for having this flipping web_animations_api???
-
njsgtomman: I think one thing to detect devtools was automated download of .map files or what it was for the source view or line numbers or what it was
-
njsgfranstam: probably to force animations upon everyone and deliver a terrible experience to both people who can't withstand animations and people who don't have very high end GPUs? just guessing, have to see what it is :-P

nsITobin"If you don't test for it, the bug doesn't exist!"

Sompiit almost seems like modern web developers do everything in their power to make it as impossible as possible to develop and test an independent web browser
