sounds like Mozilla is a good place (in knowing what it's going to do - not)

Reminds me a bit of the blockchain hype. Not much left of it. AI has more potential but doubt you will see fast returns if you pour money into it. Anyone buying a processor or system for its AI enhancements now is throwing money into the dumpster unless you do r&d. My 2 cents. Intels new CPUs are a joke and I bet they are there so that the next generation in 2 years can be advertized as the...

...perfect replcement for the outdated AI processors from last generation.

Well like most mozilla not being an application platform bits go this AI shit will be canceled as well as Firefox the application will suffer for it
-
ContributorTobin
but only after it has failed for months and years before hand
-
ContributorTobin
it is as not-new as me using mozilla code for not-firefox

I hope the AI madness won't mess up too much in non browser/ code
-
ContributorTobin
It's ok, this time I am not mad just disappointed that they keep making these mistakes instead of making the best damned web browser and community application platform on the planet.
-
ContributorTobin
which doesn't at all discount AI enhancement but also isn't crippled by it

I can understand that they they need to make money. Maybe enterprise contracts would have worked once but now with Chrome so far entrenched no incentive to switch to Firefox if you are a business. They don't care about manifest v3, pprivacy or content blocking. And no PWA support either. This is all crap but now needed.
-
ContributorTobin
well manifest v3 is alien to mozilla anyway
-
ContributorTobin
to its base tech
-
ContributorTobin
but privacy content blocking pwa

ContributorTobin
yeah

ContributorTobin
these are all important things

pwa expecially
-

or just arbitrary site specific browsing windows
-
ContributorTobin
remember Mozilla intented these concepts back in the 2000s cause hta was a disappointment

invented*
-
ContributorTobin
among other things
-

Microsoft Edge is the current leader in PWA experience because they bring it to the forefront but it is still based on the browser being the main window
-
ContributorTobin
as in today's web browser concept is still the main window and I believe that is what keeps leading us broadly to keep screwing up like this leaving generational tech gaps
-
ContributorTobin
We have to abandon the concept of a web browser as in the Netscape Navigator style of web browser AS the main interface to the web
-
ContributorTobin
in order to actually experiment with bridging the gap between desktop and web
-
ContributorTobin
and in doing so it may for some make a Netscape Navigator style interface all you need cause well most sites and services are more like desktop programs to the user
-
ContributorTobin
the thing in doing this with Mozilla tech that makes it better than chrome is.. anyone can jump into mozilla with a little foreknowlege and learn a bunch still but jumping into chromium is a nightmare
-
ContributorTobin
now I am talking mainstream masses here not crazy fucks such as our selves
-
ContributorTobin
but who would have that kind of foresight and experience with the concepts
