[MMx]hi all,
-
[MMx]I think I officially have a problem: I upgraded my OS and now the old SeaMonkey 2.49 doesn't start anymore, and releasenotes of the current release tell me that I need to remove my Master Password before upgrading.
-
[MMx]is there a way to get out of this deadlock?
-
frg_AwayMMx it either works or it works not. Make a backup of you profile first. Worse case you loose your stored passwords
-
[MMx]:(
-
[MMx]OK... I'll try that then. If all else fails, I still have the old SSD with the previous OS around, which I could boot. But that's a bit of effort.
-
frg_AwayMMx I moved my old 2.49.5 backup to a vm for testing. You could always do this too.
-
[MMx]uh, never tried to run macOS in a VM :/
-
[MMx]I think booting from an external drive is the only other feasible option
-
frg_AwayMMx yeahh not easy. I tried recently with a 10.11 install and didn't suceed yet. If you can boot a linux vm the affected files are compatible. logins.json key4.db and cert9.db
-
frg_Awayold ones are key3.db and cert8.db which are migrated.
-
[MMx]OK, thanks :)

therubeon the ssa.gov webpage, if you "time out", you're presented with a modal warning message.

therubemodal - to that particular tab.
-
therubeyou can open other tabs in that same window, or new windows... & do what you want.
-
therubebut, until you actually answer that dialog, you cannot physically close the browser.
