While these two lists are Google groups, they're also bridged to newsgroups at gmane

Sadly, these lists are Google groups. This matters because, unlike other list management software, if you want something like setting your subscription to "nomail" you need to have a google account.

IanN: didn't happen automatically, but manually, it might have been me who requested them, I'm not sure if any has history predating the new, post-news.mozilla.org, SeaMonkey google groups, I think one has history, but for the wrong group

frg: does your news provider filter the spam? there are three or four doing NoCeMs, but I forget which are some of them

njsg: the groups used to be bridged until Mozilla moved to Google groups so now there's two separate things - the google group and a separate new group

yes, this bridging I'm talking about is Gmane

I think I tried to check and it didn't have older posts in the (painful to navigate in their interface...) archive

it's possible old content is only at mozilla.support.seamonkey, which *is* one of these blocked because of the Google spam (not of the new kind, but rather the italian spam)
