james1138Hello all from Indiana. I am trying out SeaMonkey version 2.53.17.1 on Debian and need to ask how to sync Google Calendar to Lightning that comes with SeaMonkey? I installed "Provider for Google Calendar" - but when try "Subscribe to Remote calendar"... nothing appears to happen.
-
frg_Awayjames1138 did you install the version from the add-ons site? It is probably broken. caldav access should work but for the add-on it needs to be fixed. Not sure if the version in our tree works better. IanN_Away might know.
-
james1138No luck. Tried the newest verison as well as the version just before it. Even used the website "Seamonkey Extension Converter".
-
frg_AwayJames1138 it is built when compiling but we don't distribute it currently. It needs fixes for sure. All later public version will proabably only work with Thunderbird. Also might need addtional oauth2 changes. Maybe ask in mozillaZine of someone can access a google calendar without it.
-
james1138That is weird! I used OAuth in my IMAP GMail setup. I thought it would "carry over".
-
jonadabDunno. I stopped using Google Calendar after I turned over the responsibility of reminding me of calendar events, to my IRC bot.
-
frg_Awayjames1138 I don't think so but I didn't try.
-
james1138<Sigh> The whole combo package of browser / mail / calendar / IRC is the reason I am trying Seamonkey rather than having separate apps.
-
jonadabAh, I only use Seamonkey as a browser.
-
frg_Awaylet me see if I have a 2.53.17.1 version floating around.
-
jonadabI prefer it over Firefox because the devs don't rearrange all the UI elements every ten minutes like children playing in a sandbox.
-
james11381st: Support for all NPAPI plugins like Flash, Java and Silverlight has been removed - now this... I think I shall try eariler version 2.49.
-
frg_AwayEarlier versions will do you no good. caldav support should work without the add-on
-
jonadabSilverlight, there's something I haven't heard anything about lately.
-
frg_AwayIt is burried deper than 6ft. Same for NPAPI
