WG9s send me the log and the config.status. I still think it might be the memory. Bad things happen with anything less than 8GB.

CaptainTobin
frg_Away: but last i saw it was still xul not transformed
-
frg_Away
CaptainTobin less and less

mimasama: re: system libs are awful, one might then wonder why do we have dynamic linking :-)

jonadab: I'd guess the poster child would be, dunno, ICU? which one is the one which requires rebuilds with almost every upgrade? Or maybe it's Alfred Newman after all?
-
JamminUnit
njsg: I'd say that's poppler. Requires a rebuild because of .so version changes with nearly every version bump.
-
JamminUnit
*a rebuild of its consumers
-
njsg
ah that too
-
njsg
with sqlite the problem was/is also possible data loss I think, if the features of the sqlite build change? probably more of a problem in distributions where you can change these easily (say, Gentoo).
-
JamminUnit
njsg: Gentoo can have feature-dependencies, too. So this is not really an issue in Gentoo.
-
JamminUnit
(They're called "use-dependencies" in Gentoo-speech)
-
njsg
I think it'd not be so much "it has to be built this way" but rather "you can use it in all these ways but if you then switch there might be some incompatibility", but maybe I'm actually misremembering the details, maybe the issue was really with switching between system and bundled?
-
njsg
I don't know, I'm not even sure I did use USE=system-sqlite at some point, the only one I remember for sure is system-cairo.

maybe it updated on me, actually? if that is the notification, still, what crap.
-
therube
yeah, it must have 102->115
-
therube
you mean to tell me that i didn't disable updates?
-
therube
no /distribution/ directory, so maybe i didn't ?
-
ripspin
where is the seamonkey config file? my seamonkey wont start and says: can't access the config file
-
ripspin
I looked in: ~/.config nothing under mozilla OR seamonkey
-
frg_Away
if this is the exact message I doubt it comes from SeaMonkey.
-
ripspin
frg_Away thats how I remember it; Im on a different OS now
-
ripspin
frg_Away what is the correct wording and I will check it when I got back to the OS
-
frg_Away
there is no correct wording. Depends on where it fails. Might be unable to access the profile or something else.
-
CaptainTobin
damn
-
CaptainTobin
i had a question to ask frg
-
CaptainTobin
... i wanted a list of seamonkey specific resources I could put in a dropdown on thereisonlyxul.org
-
CaptainTobin
so we can have BinOC, MCP, and SM resources in one place
-
CaptainTobin
also it is gonna get documentation capabilities git controlled yaml headers so if you guys wanna offer some quick and easy documentation without having to pull out the old site gen or the mozilla wiki that will be a thing.
