I seldom use them any longer. Wading to the first pages of paid for and sponsored stuff got worse by the month. Mostly DuckDuckGo and startpage now.

tomman with NoScript it is not a problem but in a new profile I see memory going up but not so fast.

Suspect the content is added to history and the cache and not evicted fast because site is still open. But just a hunch.

frg_Away: in my case a few minutes is no problem (with most of the offsite crap blocked via DNS), but leaving it there for like 30 minutes or more WILL cause things to go awry

Left it maybe on for 20 minutes in a new profile and did see it going to 800 MB. Didn't try 2.53.17 without bug 523950 in.
