MattATobin: well thinking if your reasoning for anting the les secure tls requirements is to manage a localrouter than perhaps only permitting them on you local net would be a great solutilon. btw are no vulerabilities per se in the older tls versions it is just si thought based on better ways to break encryption they are mor susceptable to brute forse breaking the encyption so not realy a...

it's 2023 and dealing with SSL on LANs is STILL a pain

remember that SSL was invented about 30 years ago to secure your credit card numbers, not to protect your chat logs

issue is not they are vulnerable just no longer non brute force breakable and perhaps allowing them lulls non-informed users into a false sense of security because they have lerned if it is htps it is OK which is wrong.

so I still think off by default and only way to enable it is with a huge warning and then perhaps an only permit on my local lan or only to a list of IP addresses to eprmit you to manage your local router.

Status of the SeaMonkey Infrastructure

b ut i bet it is having SeaMonkey as a thing on their bugzilla and m ore likely having to pay for all of our stuff int /pub/seamonkey on archive.mozilla.org and ftp.mozilla.org which causes them money on their cloud services

Translations bugzilla, central source and addons via MZLA appendix. add-ons is basically independent but I suspect it is not seen this way.

i really think it is the arcive.mozilla.org and frp.mozilla.org space taken up on their cloud service that they want to get us off of to save money every month

and distribution of course.

if archive/ftp storage space is the issue, I guess they could say so specifically

we need to know what is the biggest issue an set up a priority list and schedule would be more useful than get off everything (with no definition of what there is) by a date

i think the archive/ftp space was never an issue before I restarted posting nightly builds

and now they have done something to post that from working so now i really do not understand the issue at all

Status of the SeaMonkey Source Tree

actually the inablity to post new came from the new and the inability to remove unwanted pre-dated the move to Google

Both building. Cleaned up regexp patches with bucs help and even found an erro which unbroke a site. So test todays 2.53.18 a bit.

I am on SpiderMonkey changes locally. In the middle of 61a1 now but needs more work.

I am still on trying to get linux-64 bit builds on a system where 64-bit libs are in /usr/lib64 rather than /usr/lib to work using clang 16

yes legacy js is out so hopefully we don't see more add-on breakage after 2.53.18. No promises but looks good.

bget errors aying can not find X11 libs when i backport the bug that should fix it I get non-sensical errors about clang and pango

clang 16 seems to have other problems so I think staying with 15 is a safe bet anyway. Seems mozilla cludged aorund some rust issues with it.

issue seems to have to do with eliminateing a lot of stupidity in the code in old-configure and switch to using moz.configure and dealing with how to find the includes and libraries by using the pkgconfig files is a linux issue

tomman I use them every day and they use mostly only backports so they are not really nightlies. Now and then some snafu creeps in but usually caught fast :)

unlike mozilla where they had several days in a row with no nightlies because they violated there own rules about what patches should be backed out to fix bustage.

The nsIPrefBranch cleanups still seems to cause the most damage but easy fixer. Didn't read about more fallout from my latest js cleanups.
