i had filesystem corruption while back if you recall

i think it came from newer-than-ltsc 2019 windows 10

compounded with filesystem weakening from switching between nt61 and 62+

Windows Me made me learn the importance of doing frequent backups, since I would be reinstalling it twice a year at least

both are seperate but fs issue causing things

Seagate made me learn the importance of doing full-disk backups, since HDDs can and will crash with no warning

Personally I think the old stuff will go nowhere. Pick a fork or source level of your liking and enhance it.

the xpfe splashscreen barely gets through the fade in its so fast

and that is at least a 1 second fade

Yeahh but unless you plan to be compatible with 5 minor websites only you need to be web compatible these day. Building from the ground takes years and then you are 5 years back again. It is all forked up thanks to google and web frameworks just pushing bleeding edge junk.
