OK, my search engines reverted, AGAIN
-
tomman
but this time it happened after a clean shutdown!
-
tomman
for whatever reason, Yahoo Argentina keeps going back and kicking out English Wikipedia
-
tomman
all of my other search engines remain there
-
njsg
didn't see it but it might be a matter of doing more testing. which build?
-
njsg
do you have search engine auto-updates enabled?
-
tomman
njsg: Build ID: 20230523110002 (2.53.17b1 pre)
-
tomman
how do I check if I have autoupdate enabled for search engines? (there is no checkbox on the "manage search engines" dialog)
-
njsg
tomman: I think there's a checkbox in the preferences in the same place where you enable/disable checking for SeaMonkey updates
-
njsg
ah, it says "add-ons", for some reason I remembered one mentioning search engines
-
tomman
there is nothing for search engines, indeed
-
tomman
but the weirdest thing of all is that it always happen with only ONE of the providers
-
njsg
now I'd have to check if search engines are included in add-ons updates or not
-
tomman
I have the following on my list: Google, Wikipedia EN, Wikipedia ES, MercadoLibre Venezuela, and a couple of very niche ones: AniDB and VNDB
-
njsg
tomman: hm, and there's also just one you disable?
-
njsg
anything provided by a localized build, or you have the en-US default ones?
-
tomman
all but Wikipedia EN somehow survive (and no, neither AniDB nor VNDB nor MercadoLibre VE are stock ones)
-
njsg
I could try setting up a profile like that and see what happens
-
tomman
can't remember which ones are the default ones for es-AR, aside of Yahoo Argentina
-
tomman
speaking of addons
-
tomman
has anyone tried newer versions of Palefill?
-
tomman
..nevermind, it still expects Node.prototype.getRootNode to not exist
-
