tomman: There was IEn, where n is something, for Unix but it didn't include MS Comic Chat, IIRC.
-
njsg
it instead shipped with some java-based text IRC client, I think

... sexps, interesting
-
WG9s
Jso is that a orpno onPostScript thing?
-
WG9s
hmm tring to say - njsg is that a porno PostScript thing?
-
WG9s
sexps?
-
njsg
no, plural for sexp, short for s-expression
-
njsg
so more like a porno Lisp thing, perhaps
-
IanN

bau I think for me

IanN
project areas patch has had a couple of revisions
-
IanN
i've created a gitlab repo for add-ons, but still looking how it will all work

Status of the SeaMonkey Infrastructure
-
frg
Still didn't switch to Rocky 8. Expect this with 2.53.18. I was busy and dinÄta dd as much build stuff as planned. Or anything else...
-
IanN
I've done some initial work by creating an account for BugSplat
-
frg
I uploaded the Windows symbols for one release as a test which worked but didn't try anything else.
-
IanN
I'm hoping to do some more work on it in the next week or so
-
WG9s
ah so pressure is off on mettrying to get roky 8 builds to not requre newer lib version at runtime to run the build
-
IanN
yes
-
IanN
Status of the SeaMonkey Source Tree
-
frg
comm-central building was broken by some glean telemetry sdk changes. Worked around it with WG9s. Seems affectes at least my Firefox builds too.
-
frg
searchbox in 2.53 has a problem which should be fixed soon.
-
frg
Otherwise bau I think.
-
IanN
Release Train
-
WG9s
yes thanks to frg for finding a workaround
-
frg
We planned to do a 2.53.16.1 but I was busy at work. Didn't do a thing here. Should we do 2.53.17b1 or try to make 16.1 happen?
-
tonymec
yes, as frg said, searchbox has a problem but sidebar searching is still OK (including autocomplete) and address bar searching with Keyword Search (which hasn't got autocomplete) is also OK.
-
IanN
it would be nice to do 16.1 but we have to target resource/time
-
frg
tonymec you can also use the magnifying glass in the searchbar.
-
WG9s
and people can just use my 2.52.17b1pre builds f it is an issue for them
-
frg
Most esr 102 patches no longer apply but they seem to deal with spoofing fullscreen and notification a lot lately. So security wise not much to do because hard to spoof SeaMonkey with its totally different themes.
-
frg
WG9s these are the ones currently broken :)
-
WG9s
ok so then how owud 16.1 be required if 2.53.17 is not broke then whay a 2.53.16,1 and if not fixed in 2.53.17b1pre then whereis thiis 2.53.16,1 to fix it coming from?
-
frg
WG9s for different items fixed in 2.53.17b1 pre. 2.53.17b1 pre just has a broken searchbox right now.
-
tonymec
frg: IIUC that magnifying glass (...in the field to the left..., it says) is for the Address Bar.
-
frg
tonymec I have it in my search bar since ages.
-
frg
In the field itself
-
njsg
not the button with a magnifying glass, but one inside the search text field
-
WG9s
but IF we don;t have a fix in 2.53.17b1pre then not sure where either a fix for actaul beta or 1.53.16.1 build would be coming from or tested
-
frg
2.53.17b1 pre should be sorted soon. If IanN gives me the green light I can back out 3 patches or we fix it fast.
-
frg
not a big deal either way.
-
WG9s
JUst me trying to undersand I did not realize this was still an issue in my nightly builds
-
frg
WG9s differnt tissues for both builds unfortunately.
-
tomman
oh, meeting came back to its usual timeslot
-
tomman
hi world~
-
IanN
Extensions Tracking
-
frg
Hi tomman
-
tonymec
frg: in the field itself I only have the search plugin selector. The "Search" magnifying glass is a separate widget, customizable separately, but when I click on it with something in the search bar it opens the Wikipedia Home page for that Wikipedia (wp-fr being the selected search engine in the search bar, and wp-en in the address bar)
-
frg
tonymec If I have something in the bar it searches for it
-
frg
Anyway will be fixed soon one way or other.
-
frg
-
frg
The nsIPrefbranch2 removal unfortunately affected some but the fix is simple.
-
tomman
oh, need to test Redirector and SOMEDAY sit and see what I can do to salvage Flashblock (at the very least rename it!)
-
frg
I plan to put
bug 1388317 and
bug 1083458 in soon. Not that I like it but js parser updates are a mess with the old code in.
-
tomman
also, two another addons worth testing: MonkeyFix and Sea Fox (do anyone here still uses those?)
-
tonymec
I had problems with two extensions but IanN tells me he has two extensions for me to be tested. To be continued next issue.
-
frg
Sea Fox is a theme isn't it?
-
tomman
no
-
tomman
it's basically a tweak addon to bring back some classic Firefox-isms
-
tomman
has been abandoned for ages, but surprisingly it still works as of 2.53.16
-
tomman
(can't remember if I had to do some CSS fix many, MANY releases ago, it's on a now buried Mozillazine post)
-
frg
Well all the latest removals should be easy to fix but someone needs to do it unfortunately.
-
tomman
addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/seamonkey/addon/sea-fox wonder how many of those tweaks are now redundant or outright broken
-
tomman
(The companion themes have been broken for years, but we just moved on)
-
frg
Well SeaTab-X-2 still works. I use it myself so unlikely that it will be broken without a patch :)
-
frg
-
frg
Thinking about integrating the code for ages now.
-
tomman
pdf.js still works, another miracle~
-
frg
What we took out lately and still plan was 90% deprecated for ages. I took out some other stuff but this was obscure at best.

IanN_Away: Character Palette functionality is back. Nightlytt (which is personalized directly via about:config) doesn't see the following AFAICT: nightly.templates.buildid = «UA:"${UserAgent}" ID:${AppBuildID}${Flags} ${Locale} c-c:${Changeset} m-c:${PlatformChangeset}» (without the «» which I use as unambiguous quotes), nightly.templates.title = «${TabTitle} - ${BrandName} ${Version}/${Platf
-
tonymec|away
ormVe
-
tonymec|away
rsion} (${AppBuildID}/${Locale}) ${TabsCount}T» (same remark).
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: for nightlyTT I used the latest legacy which I think was 3.10 whereas your add-on may have been earlier, perhaps there are additional things broken with 3.10
-
tonymec|away
my earlier version may have been a custom version by xsabolcs with a couple more ${} variables than the standard version but AFAICT I forgot to back it up before installing yours.
-
IanN_Away
:(
-
tonymec|away
yes what I have now calls itself 3.10
-
IanN_Away
szabolcs instead of xsabolcs?
-
IanN_Away
ah both :)
-
IanN_Away
${Flags} doesn't seem to be listed
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: I can build out of beta instead of legacy of your prefer
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: I can build out of beta instead of legacy if you prefer
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: that says 3.9pre20160829
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: don't rush. At addons.mozilla.org I see only a WebExt version. At addons.thunderbird.net I see a "nightly tester tools lite" (thus a different extension) advertised with the functionalities I want but labeled "for Thunderbird". I'll download it and see if it has a "toolkit" version mentioned in its code.
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: uploaded in the same place as the others...
-
» tonymec|away downloaded the XPI somewhere it won't disappear but not yet installed it. He notices that the XPI is bigger than the later one. Let's see.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: No juice. Let's have a look at that thinned-down extension I noticed.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: I found it back: nightly_tester_tools-3.11-sm+tb.xpi -- shall I try to send it to you by DCC (if I find how)?
-
tonymec|away
hm. nttlite says in its install.rdf: "Fx 1.5 to 1.6, Tb 1.5 to 1.6, Flock 1.0+ to 1.0+". No Toolkit section. Seems to me hopelessly outdated.
-
tomman
wow, Flock
-
tomman
haven't heard that name in at least one decade
-
tonymec|away
tomman: not to mention versions 1.5 and 1.6 of Fx+Tb
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: P.S. Its install.rdf says: Fx+Tb+Tk 39.0 to 56.0, Sm 2.38 to 2.53.
-
tonymec|away
^-- NTT 3.11 I mean
-
tonymec|away
P.P.S. 77344 bytes zip-packed with a date in 2017.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: Ohhh! Reinstalled ntt 3.11 and now it works! No idea what had gone wrong but you may use it as-is if you want. For customization details, see
wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Automation/Projects/Addons/NightlyTesterTools or Tools→Nightly Tester Tools→Customize Titlebar.
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: any idea where it was generated from?
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: IIRC it was a custom build by xabolcs including a couple of variables that I used and he and hskupin didn't.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: if you fear malware, there isn't any more of it than in the mainstream builds, it was built by the same people.
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: just interested to look at the source of it
-
tonymec|away
IIRC the source may be at some old changeset of xsabolcs's github repository for nightlytt, a little earlier than the Last Change Date of 2017-08-19
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: or is it xabolcs? I never remember the spelling of that nick.
-
tonymec|away
Full name Szabolcs Hubai but his github account is (was?) under his nick.
-
tonymec|away
Maybe there is (was?) a separate branch on that repo for this custom build.
-
IanN_Away
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: yeah, that's it.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: it _might_ be
github.com/xabolcs/nightlytt/tree/branch-issue-129-platform-changeset but I'm not sure. The date is right and so is my recollection of the contents.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: No that isn't it, the install.rdf is different.
-
IanN_Away
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away:
mozilla/nightlytt 9cc8d6e has the correct install.rdf apart from it is 3.10 not 3.11
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: no, I must have been mistaken, the latest one before WebExt is 3.10 and this is 3.11. Maybe I was sent a diff when I still had a clone of that repo but since then I've scrapped it.
-
tonymec|away
Or maybe it was a merge of some changes from issue-129-platform-changeset with this 3.10 release. My memory is hazy.
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: i'll see if I can track down the changeset
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: i've uploaded a tweaked version for you to test
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: Apparently hskupin also scrapped his nightlytt clone, that was my next guess.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: ok, let's restart and see.
-
tonymec|away
IanN_Away: Bingo!
-
IanN_Away
tonymec|away: great
