wow, first weirdness of the year

context menus were broken on SM!

suddenly I got no context menus

right-click would "freeze" the UI until I clicked elsewhere

thankfully a restart solved everything, but that's a first

tomman some modal message box hidden? Have seen this now and then with other programs.

IIRC I was extracting a ZIP file with Engrampa,but context menu worked fine on the few other (GTK) apps I had open

I didn't had context menus on SM only, but restarting it was enough

maybe some odd interference? Or a stray cosmic ray :D

Sompi the locale stuff has changed and still needs to change more. Unless someone finds the time to rebuild this with the new apis will not happen. It is basically utf-8 these days.

frg_Away: I think the charset detection should be simple. The prioritizing should be html meta charset > http response content/type charset > ISO-8859-1 (default)

And the charset menu should have all possible charsets in case the auto-detected charset is wrong

I don't understand why browser maintainers always change these things

This charset thing is just another example of a thing that used to work just fine until someone tried to "fix" it

There are now new locale apis and they are used in web content too. Should still be possible to put 850 into the list but someone needs to do it. Custom autodectection is probably not happening any longer.
