I've been a portable guy since my youth, sadly everything went the other direction of locking things more and more and integrating things directly into the system.

Putting a USB key in the old days, autostart working having Windows startup the menu and all your apps and settings and work was at your fingertips. just where you left off, on whatever computer you did it on.

And you could have your usb key in your key holder, always with you.

That's freedom. And if you wanted, you could copy things to another if he wanted an app. Easy peasy.

The Agenda is still to make USB keys work bad with Portable Apps, after over 10 years. But I think I have found a way around it, although need to test it out and I can't buy anything on the internet at the moment.

The thing is the USB SSD, are still very slow, although faster in the smaller end, and apps usually have a lot of small files and such.

But... I've found way around that, I think. Cheaper, faster and bigger then the standard USB SSD and nearly the same size as well.

what I usually do is to pretty-print the "corrupted" sessionstore.json (on Linux I use json_pp), then open that on a texteditor and work from there

the contents of it are daunting because it contains not only the open tabs, but also the history for each tab, closed tabs, and even windows!

Well the Browser has been opened another place, and thereby... the damage is most likely done.

Well when it fails, then all the tabs are gone. Yea kinda happens here and there for me. But its not only Seamonkey that have that issue.

Like I have no idea what tabs I had opened up... and now they are just gone. Many times you have a lot of goodies in the tabs for later.

I'm still of the idea that this should be the work for an addon rather than in the core product, but what we need is to stop destroying the evidence when something goes wrong with restoring the lastsession
