if it was you with 2.53.14b1 I asked the gentoo maintainer and he was unable to build so it should work:

This it is not PY3 related, at least not directly. Somewhere it tries

to import mozfile, but can't find it.

Normally Python would tell you which file is causing the problem, but

mozilla decided to implement their own module loading functions, which

doesn't always tell you where the problem is located.

btw: no longer supported: enable-system-sqlite

will break build if nss > 3.53: with-system-nss

same with with-system-nspr > esr 78

all the with-system might break the build depending on the versions installed.

Oh and please do not the same crap like palemoon did and abandon all the --with-system-* options. This is crucial for Linux distro package maintainers.

JamminUnit it is possible something else. You can ask Myckel who maintains the gentoo build and also provided some python patches. He was able to build.

JamminUnit this results in frequent breakage. system-sqlite has been removed. nss and nspr might break. I just updated 2.53.15 to latest esr and needed to pull in some stuff.

Yeah, system-sqlite was a remnant from older ebuilds which I forgot to remove.

But that's definitely not the cause for the failed python odule loading.

No but I can't tell you what . My CentOS 7 builds work and also the fedora ones Bill and IanN do. I can only recommend removing all the system stuff and if this works put them in one at a time.

Not sure what the l10n-base directory is. I am using a slightly modified gentoo ebuild and that one unpacks the l10n files into seamonkey-2.53.14/seamonkey-2.53.14-l10n (where seamonkey-2.53.14 contains the unpacked main sources)

if you only need an en-US build just remove this statement for now.

Well, I can try that to narrow down the issue but english is not my native language I usually want to use.

I donÄT think 10n inside the main tree causes a problem but see if you can gut the mozconfig for aminimum build first.
