You know the manager shit in the tools menu?
-
CaptainTobin
I might move those to iconic statusbar panels
-
CaptainTobin
maybe use the color scheme i introduced into MY security statusbar panel.. to indicate no change for default permissions, green for explicit allow permission and red for explicit deny permission
-
CaptainTobin
that also would free up the tools menu quite a bit
-
CaptainTobin
like what 4-5 items
-
CaptainTobin
in fact all the god damned managers should be accessable from the statusbar
-
tomman
news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32982697 oh god, Clownflare now wants to become a cellphone telco
-
tomman
"Zero Trust SIM"
-
tomman
ZERO TRUST, indeed
-
CaptainTobin
hey frg.. why do some tree views have dotted heirarchy lines and others most don't?
-
CaptainTobin
I figured it out
-
CaptainTobin
-
CaptainTobin
I changed the new tab icon back but altered it to better fit in.. I also slightly modified and assigned the allBookmarks icon to the toolbar button
-
CaptainTobin
I am next gonna make it when the button is on a toolbar that the bookmarks menu hides its self
-
CaptainTobin
cause redundant menu lol
-
CaptainTobin
also gonna duplicate and mod it to be a history menu button as well

Hi all, i cam here some time ago to request plugin for SM 2.53, the only one working i use is ublock origine and i want to tell you that youtube is better (24% cpu) than FFX 91.2 with 48% cpu on a ASUS X756
-
TheRepair178
*that seamonkey on youtube is better
-
IanN_Away
TheRepair178: what plugin were you looking for?
-
cabrag
Hello,
-
cabrag
I have a thin client with 2548 MB memory
-
cabrag
and few times per day I have an issue with seamonkey because of that
-
cabrag
Seamonkey really need more than 800 MB of memory for viewing few pages ?
-
tomman
cabrag: depends on the sites you're using
-
tomman
JS-heavy websites of course are going to tax your RAM hard
-
tomman
2.5GB is basically too little for the modern Googlenetâ„¢
-
cabrag
should't be some error ? In fact only to kill process will close session
-
tomman
what sites are you using specifically?
-
tomman
also, does the RAM usage increases gradually, or shots up at any moment?
-
cabrag
wikipedia, google and some idle rpg sites
-
cabrag
if only seamonkey community page is open is a little more than 300 MB
-
tomman
your thin client runs Windows or Linux?
-
cabrag
Linux
-
tomman
32 or 64-bit?
-
cabrag
32
-
tomman
I haven't checked RAM usage at startup for 32-bit, but for 64-bit with a few addons, ~300Mb is rather normal
-
tomman
oh, any addons in use? Adblockers can be quite hungry, too
-
cabrag
not yet
-
tomman
Right now I'm on 64-bit Linux, ~30 tabs open, and SeaMonkey is using ~1.5GB
-
tomman
(30 tabs, most of them are imageboards)
-
tomman
Oh, have you tried about:memory?
-
tomman
after doing GC+CC once each, RAM usage drops ~200MB
-
tomman
Just booted my ol' Thinkpad to Debian - stock SeaMonkey stable, no addons, clean profile
-
tomman
RAM usage right at startup is ~186MB
-
tomman
(32-bit)
-
tomman
increased to ~200MB after a few minutes just idling
-
tomman
...and it's now at 211MB after 10 minutes doing nothing
-
tomman
wonder why
-
frg_Away
tomman usually safebrowsing list fetches and if uBlock these too among other things.
-
tomman
~15 minutes later it's at 212MB and staying there
-
frg_Away
idle gc too.
-
CaptainTobin
frg_Away: the platform.. as a kde-like desktop environment and windows shell
-
frg_Away
CaptainTobin what do you mean?
-
CaptainTobin
well i think it would be cool if an entire desktop environment/windows shell was done in xul
-
tomman
nearly 2 hours later, my idle 32-bit instance has been sitting comfortably at 214MB
-
tomman
this sets the reference point nicely
-
tomman
also I really need better thermal paste for this Thinkpad
-
frg_Away
tomman I usually use MX-2 for my Thinkies
