JamminUnitAny reason why this import error happens when I try to build 2.53.14b1? pastebin.mozilla.org/ReVmXoQk/raw
-
IanN_AwayJamminUnit: what platform / version are you using?
-
frg_AwayJamminUnit make sure python 3 is installed. If you reuse an old object directory delete it too before starting a build. mach clobber is broken because of the ongoing transistion to python 3.
-
JamminUnitIanN_Away: platform is Gentoo Linux. I have python-2.7 and python-3.10 installed.
-
JamminUnitIanN_Away: this is an entirely fresh attempt to build 2.53.14b1. No old obj directory.
-
frg_AwayJamminUnit Should work. gentoo maintainer did some of the python stuff. did you do just mach build?
-
JamminUnitThe failure occurs when I run "mach configure"
-
frg_AwayTry just mach build but should make no difference.
-
frg_AwayOh wait there was something about 3.10
-
frg_AwayTry this one . Not sure if it applies: controlc.com/7c578880
-
WG9s_JamminUnit: might also be helpful if you could post the entire log,not just the section with the error. something earlier in the log might give a clue
-
frg_AwayJamminUnit forget the patch already in.

tommanah well, I'll never have the joy of giving my money to some Silly Valley genius so I can count my Legos... With An App™

tommanI'm so tempted to just blacklist the entire .app TLD on my adblocker

frg_Awaythis one is in: bugzilla.mozilla.org/1019116

tommanI still don't get the idea behind the whole Promise concept, but eh, I'm getting old I guess
-
frg_Awaytomman imho all a big kludge because js like java is not multithreaded. So you work around blocking stuff with it. Same with async but at least I find async more to my liking.
-
tommanah yeah, threads AKA "JS is the new OS"
-
tommansoon someone will come up with a fork() implementation for JS

frg_Awaytomman if all goes well with building fix is in the next WG9s build. Hopefully stable. Lots of media stuff/backports and the one for weakmap.
-
WG9sfrg_Away tomman: should be I decided I am not driving back home tonight and staying here til morning so should be around if there are issues in the build
