WaltS48
Anybody have a Samsung smartphone that keeps giving alerts, but when you go to look nothing is there?
-
IanN
I have one for work, but don't use it enought to notice that sort of thing
-
njsg
hi .*
-
WaltS48
Well, all it needs is to be on for me. Not using it.

Status of the SeaMonkey Infrastructure
-
frg
Nothing new on the Windows builder site. Next VS2022 17.1 will probably appear Tuesday for the patch day but the current VS2019 seems to be very stable so not plan to change it for 2.53.12
-
IanN
urgh, forgot it was patch Tuesday this week
-
frg
WG9s tested the latest rust versions and so did I and might switch to rust 1.58.1 for the next release.
-
IanN
Thanks

IanN
Status of the SeaMonkey Source Tree
-
frg
All building I think. 2.57 is still on the backburner. managed to fix it to use rust 1.38 but much higher is still broken because of bindgen errors.
-
frg
2.53 has about 1000 new patches and I am working on stylo support. A bit further but need to shift to something elase to keep my sanity. Rust is bad for your health :)
-
frg
Very fragile stuff and still unstable alpha level but nothing new here.
-
IanN
thanks for all the work frg
-
tomman
you can keep rust away with periodic oil~
-
tomman
oh, and don't breathe it!
-
frg
We need to fix up the patch queue but that is something internally. It is now a bit more stable and we can make more stuff permanent.
-
IanN
Release Train
-
frg
tomman at this stage it needs an excorcist.
-
frg
No bugs filed against 2.53.11b1 and have not seen complaints so build time for the final soon I think. Will look at 91.6 sec bug to include. One is already in and have not seen many others.
-
IanN
so 2.53.11b1 was released last weekend
-
frg
90% of them theses days seem to be regression fixes which does not mean the source is good otherwise :)
-
frg
Anyone using gmx and 2.53.x with a pop account?
-
frg
There seems to be a problem fixed in
Bug 1752397
-
IanN
2.53.11 will be the next release in a few weeks (all things being equal)
-
frg
I would shoot for in about 14 days may but lets see.
-
njsg
frg: comment 0 mentions that fetching when starting won't work, any chance that could also fix issues with other providers? I think something like that was mentioned on a couple occasions, at least once in the newsgroup
-
njsg
(not something I've seen personally, I'm not using POP3)
-
IanN
I tend to use IMAP
-
frg
njsg fix is in 2.53.12b1 pre but didn't test with gmx yet. Using imap but can use my parents account which is basically unused for testing.

frg
I have seen this one but the user used an invalid email so hard to check.

IanN
I'm not aware of any updates
-
frg
Nothing new here. I still plan to rip out legacy generators next. npapi frontend stuff will be gone in 2.53.12 too.
-
frg
-
frg
IanN should
bug 815954 be closed? In the unlikely event that eme is made working even then it does not use it unless I am mistaken.
-
IanN
frg: i'd have to research it
-
frg
IanN In a Firefox build from 2.53 code it is activated or disabled. Everything else is grayed out. Think gone from central too.
-
IanN
frg: do they now use something else?
-
frg
IanN no
-
frg
-
frg
Don't have a later Fx installed but should be the same.
-
IanN
frg: need to check what distros do but I'd say remove it too
-
frg
IanN backends still needs cleanup for npapi and will go with it then.
-
IanN
frg: thanks

Spring isn't until I can put my Winter coat and scarf away. Sometimes that's in May.
-
WaltS48
Winter starts when I have to put them on. Sometimes in September. :(
-
IanN
WaltS48: sounds like you have only 3 seasons :)
-
tomman
IanN: better than Soviet Venezuela
-
tomman
where we only have two seasons
-
WaltS48
Only two
-
tomman
"scorching summer in Hell" and "rain"
-
tomman
and lately, the "rain" season only lasts a few weeks at most
-
WaltS48
I can't hate a season because I hate weather. There are some really nice days though.
-
WG9s
would it be better to just use the 2.53.10.2 state as the base?
-
WG9s
like base it off the last release?
-
WG9s
but then if doing that could really just take the source tarball and creat a hg repo based on that
