03:06:02 <job> I just realized, SeaMonkey's Composer can be used as a word processor
03:06:22 <job> guess I can now say bye bye to LibreOffice Writer
06:26:02 <mahdi[m]> I'm happy self-hosting tt-rss for like a decade, it's just apparently their libs were updated for web front-end (will use rssguard app on desktop for now and android app still works fine)
18:39:18 <therube> quicksearch (fayt), opens the "find box" when you start typing... after x number of seconds, the box closes - which is fine & expected.
18:39:20 <therube> but, it seems that (maybe sometimes, not sure) initiating another qucksearch (fayt) picks up the prior (unclosed) entry?
18:39:22 <therube> so if you fayt 'SEAMONKEY', then you wait till the find box "closes" & fayt 'BROWSER' - sometimes, you'll end up with SEAMONKEYBROWSER rather then (the expected) BROWSER
18:39:24 <therube> 2.53.10 20210913140340 (not sure particularly if it happened before, but i'd think so?)
18:40:38 <therube> fayt settings look to be default; when typing within a web page & links only
18:52:45 <njsg> F3 will continue the same search when the box has been closed and does not show the box again (should it?)
19:19:14 <therube> not about F3. it's about doing a fayt, the dialog box "disappearing" (timing out), starting a new fayt, & even though it "timed out", the prior fayt is still there when you're intending to do a new fayt
19:20:38 <therube> it might be more apparent if you... fayt, alt+TAB away (from SeaMonkey), alt+Tab back to SeaMonkey (a moment later, during which time it should have timed out), & then performing (immediately at that point) a new fayt
19:43:10 <njsg> therube: does it happen if you don't alt+TAB away?
19:43:55 <therube> njsg: i'm not sure? i haven't totally put my finger on just what is happening, yet.
19:44:15 <therube> and probably won't figure it out till sometime next week...
19:44:37 <njsg> as you mentioned that, I looked again, and text remains selected if the window isn't focused, but if the window is focused, the selection vanishes once the bar "times out"
19:44:48 <njsg> this under X11
19:45:08 <njsg> but despite that I'm unable to resume the search (or start a new one) if the selection was retained
19:47:34 <njsg> I can't currently reproduce, but I don't have time for much testing right now
19:47:53 <njsg> therube: which platform are you on? X11, Windows, other?
19:49:38 <therube> Win7. & yes, in most every case i've alt tab away & back. going from webpage, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/ (as it happens to be), & alt+tab to my file manager (or Everything) to check for version changes, then alt+tab back to SeaMonkey & typing in a (new) fayt
19:51:03 <njsg> focusing the window before it times out makes it unselect the text
19:51:58 <njsg> most likely not related to what you're describing, just something I'm noticing here also with "find as you type"
20:03:20 <Archi> Hi, when I'm using the new SeaMonkey 2.53.9 version, on my iMac 16Gb of memory, the weal of death can't stop turning. Is this version not to demanding on the amount of memory ? I worry ...
20:08:24 <Archi> I mean : wheel of death, sorry ...
20:09:10 <therube> gotta run... later...
