bucI'm a bit worried about elfhack after 1473436-1 (a commit from 5 Jul 2018). It refers to bug 1423822, but it looks like this was fixed a bit later (commits near 3 Aug 2018), and we already have all the patches for it backported... IOW, whether elfhack is still used when do mach package on Linux?
-
tommansupport-en.wd.com/app/warrantystatus apparently WD doesn't want us to check our warranty status from "other browsers" anymore
-
tomman(selecting a product errors out with "ReferenceError: event is not defined" on warrantystatus.648488a48882f959700cfc18bba91ec5.js:10:5)
-
tommansome event handler is coming up... empty?
-
frg_Awaybuc I was just aligning build files this week. Wasn't so sure about this one but wanted to see if there is some fallout first. If it cuases problmes it goes out.
-
frg_Awaytomman probably global events previously an IE invention now used more and more. Have it on the screen too and the first patches already in but might break add-ons. We will see. Not around the corner in any case unless human cloning becomes possible.
-
tommanwtf, Chrome and friends are ripping off IE misfeatures too?!
-
frg_Awaytomman Bug 218415
-
tomman> Opened 18 years ago
-
tommanah well, now I've got another reason to NOT recommend Western Digital drives
-
tommanI've never liked WD anyway, too bad they now own Hitachi GST :/
-
frg_Awayneeds this Bug 1479964 and here I suspect we will see add-on breakage. In any case both are not trivial to backport.
-
frg_Awaytomman as much as I hate it we need to do it eventually. One 0.1% market share browser against the world will not end well otherwise...
-
therubetomman: are you trying to figure if they've put out an update for WD Mybook Live ;-)
-
tommantherube: thankfully I don't use prepackaged broken webby toys
-
tommanI was just checking the warranty for my horrible 1TB SMR laptop drives
-
tomman(protip: do NOT buy SMR drives for anything but archival purposes!)
-
frg_AwayA backup drive exposed to the Internet with "discontinued" firmware. Good idea...
-
bucfrg: Anyway, my builds from CentOS-7 to Fedora-35 use lld (because of clang), and all is fine with elfhack now.
-
tommanI'll never trust anything beyond a box full of bare drives and the cheapest SATA-to-USB adapter I can buy
-
tommanchecksum/hash everything, make multiple copies, etc
-
frg_Awaybuc whenever I find time I aling the build system further. We need Python 3. All a mess. I hope I/we can keep node.js out. All this junk just to build a browser.

-
sandrolinuxdoes any read this?
-
sandrolinux*anyone
-
crabbedhaloablutsandrolinux: yes
-
sandrolinuxcool
-
sandrolinuxIs there any modern documentation about coding seamonkey extensions?
-
frg_Awaysandrolinux I doubt it. But they are essentially the old xul extensions so the old documents should still be largely up to day. Changes are mostly discontinuing really and obsolete apis and also js features. Plus no binary npapi plugins and binary extensions available/allowed any longer.
