The bug 1718839 and potential need to yet another .1 fixing release is frustrating. :(

It would be nice for developers to treat their (nicely formatted) patches with the same degree of vigilance and validation as they would treat others.

Anyway, to mitigate the negative effect, developers could apply several well-tested patches, pending for months for their attention. </sarcasm>

buc this was uncalled for. I like your contributions but not your attitude. We have a work flow for patches thru bugzilla and if you don't care about it this is your problem. I will usually not pick random random snipplets for inclusion and I will not endorse putting unreviewed patches in official versions ditribution or ours. The unofficial versions are the playing ground for these and can...

...be fixed quickly if problems appear. And as you see even reviewed patches might generate problems and regressions. Personally I hope that people would test the beta versions more. Second time in a row we had incident because no one tested. Neither me nor IanN or one of the other devs find everything.
