hm does anyone have an idea why autoconf doesn't recognize --localdir ?
-
scops
it just says "invalid option"
-
scops
i tryed also "-l" but the same
-
scops
(autoconf is version 2.69 on my system)
-
scops
... "** Obsolete options
-
scops
Support for the obsoleted options -m, --macrodir, -l, --localdir is
-
scops
dropped in favor of the safer --include/--prepend-include scheme."
-
scops
i refetched the code form the source tarball instead of gitlab... there are the old-configures of . and js/src included. for me autoconf/m4 doesn't work on the git sources. *compiling
-
NewTobinParadigm
why would you need any of that to build m-c or c-c
-
NewTobinParadigm
autohell is basically subserviant to mozconfigure as parts that aren't mozconfigure yet
-
frg_Away
scops are you using mach build or mach configure when you get the error?
-
scops
mach build
-
scops
but i compiled with the source tarball successfully :)

Looks like we need to backport
Bug 1663863
-
scops
it would be nice if someone with raspberry pi on a 64bit linux would also test it
-
scops
my build runs nicely on my mnt reform (i.mx8)
-
WG9s
scops: also, if we ever get around to updating the webrtc version we provide with 2.53 I think your building with webrtc will disappear. THe new version does not even have code in the moz.build file that tests for CPU_ARCH it all seems to depend on the FPU type.
-
scops
👍️
-
scops
till then i will provide builds/patches with each release i can compile :)
-
WG9s
but I think if we can backport to the point where you need no patches and works wirh webrtc enabled I can try cross-compiling again.
-
WG9s
so backporting
bug 1663863 to fix any autoconf issues and uing a newer webrtc version that is more designed to build on arm64 and that Datetime code does not exist in current mozilla-central so figure out what bug did that and backport
-
frg_Away
4 bugs need to be backported for the autoconf issue. I am on it but need to run some other errands first.
-
WG9s
frg_Away: that is fine.
-
WG9s
I will try to figure out what is needed tofor the DateTime.js issue
-
WG9s
and i am failrly certian that the can;t build webrtc issue just needs a new webrtc.
-
WG9s
but if builds work with no changes with webrtc disabled I will go back to trying to cross-compile
-
WG9s
or I might just add the include to avaiod the issue on the DateTime thing since it does not break anything with the other builds
-
WG9s
the autoconf thing he put in to make his build work broke windows builds
-
scops
which is very strange imho because it's just another option to search for the binary (it's also strange autoconf isn't found without " 'autoconf' " ô.o)
-
scops
i think the problem is somewhere in find_program() ...

Thank you :-).

-
tomman
they acknowledged that screwing over users on non-Chrome browsers is not exactly the most inclusive idea ever
-
tomman
that's... something?
-
tomman
(I would not host my code there anyway)

"We don’t support running GitLab with JavaScript disabled in the browser and have no plans of supporting that in the future because we have features such as Issue Boards which require JavaScript extensively."
-
njsg
wait a minute
-
njsg
you mean... it's not inclusive?
-
njsg
how can that be!?
-
njsg
sorry, a bit too cynical right now, so by BSL may be too high
-
tomman
Still better than GiggityHub's "go away, you don't form part of the healthy web ecosystem"
-
njsg
I mean, this kind of thing shouldn't really require thinking, should it? I understand some may prefer to make a different choice.
-
njsg
but that excluding some parties excludes some parties is kind of... well, it's not obvious, it's tautological
-
njsg
is their site still not inclusive, btw? it's not loading completely :-)
-
tomman
I'm using JustOff's addon, sadly :/
-
tomman
which unbreaks the site, and makes me feel empty in the inside
-
njsg
(BSL meaning blood sarcasm level, just in case that is confusing somebody)
-
tomman
"blood sarcasm level"
-
tomman
mind you if I steal that bit? :D
-
njsg
feel free to :-)

tomman The truth is these changes bore me to death. Feature of the day even better then feature of yesterday and we add a new one next day for you supa dupa great inclusive carbon free politically correct user experience. No one but a few nerds living IT can really keep up here and I am not one. I am just loosing interest with half baked junk put out by google and other big entities. I...

tomman I am not giving these companies a dime. I still think this will collapse one day. All a big bubble.
