IanN sid was an issue between the new code and cz_sasl and with all 5 patches should not need it but the built in and the plugin conflict with teach other

IanN_Away mentioned that the libera provided sasl script is incompatible with the latest changes. Maybe just remove it and see how it goes.

Opps what Bill already wrote :)

Can anyone who uses Thunderbird check whether it is affected by issues
bugzilla.mozilla.org/1661070#c21 and
bugzilla.mozilla.org/1661070#c23 ?

Damn, I'm getting more crashes in 2.53.8b1 than usual
-
cyndaquil
I suspect it's due to measuring about:memory while occupying like 700+ MiB of swap with 3.7 GiB of physical memory
-
cyndaquil
I will probably test my hypothesis in a fresh profile if I have time
-
cyndaquil
But for those interested, here are the crash report ids: bp-d5203ae2-74c1-4d3b-ba64-96da50210626, bp-f5a8e642-fb5e-4f73-adb3-cef0d0210626, bp-e73b91df-0fbf-4207-90b8-72f320210625, bp-c533b1cb-ede0-4aa2-81a6-165b00210625

hmmm, need to check with ewong about symbol uploading for 2.53.8b1

cyndaquil: reproducible steps?
-
cyndaquil
IanN_Away: The two crashes that are due to shutdown seem to be inconsistent (but in common they have huge memory usage), but for the other two, it seems hitting the swap, have a pretty large swap usage (like 700 MiB), and measuring memory usage at about:memory makes it crash.
-
cyndaquil
If it doesn't crash right away, it could crash right after you shutdown
-
IanN_Away
cyndaquil: okay, thanks
-
cyndaquil
"If it doesn't crash right away, it could crash right after you shutdown" for this one, the symptom would be if it takes too long for about:memory to show up the results of the measurement

I also have four windows opened, if that matters. One for browser, one for mailnews, one for address book, and one for IRC (Ambassador, not ChatZilla)
-
cyndaquil
I hacked Ambassador to make it installable in SeaMonkey.

It would be nice to publish the source tarball of the new released SM right away, without waiting for ewong to find the time for amo. This will give a chance to get some feedback from distributions and self-builders even before the official release is released. (Especially when the idea of feedback from beta versions doesn't quite work).
-
buc
Now, in the 21st century, you can find many sites where tarball could be placed.

Many thanks to njsg for the
bug 1661070 report! One reliable reproducible case -- four different issues are fixed!

buc: and sorry for not having tested yet, I know you asked for that at least twice
-
buc
njsg: Since it is your bug :), feel free to push this stuff further (certainly if you have enough time for it).

njsg: Kinda "As a thank you for the good puzzles, I give you patches authorship"... :)
