shrini: >>so that they can start using it quickly<< there is another eazy way, use Arch 😁
-
shrini
mohan43u: not everyone has arch :-)
-
shrini
hope someone send emacs30 to snap soon
-
divya
shrini: Emacs30 to snap? haha, that's funny
-
annamalai
through distrobox I can use arch lol
-
annamalai
and easily use emacs 30 in my host
-
shrini
hello all
-
praem90
Hi
-
praem90
Did you give Seolve a try :shrini?
-
shrini
yet to work on it praem90
-
shrini
got busy yesterday
-
shrini
planned for it today
-
shrini
I am stuck with the API things
-
shrini
have to read many pages and process for getting api
-
praem90
Twitter is the easiest one
-
praem90
For linkedIn you might need a create a page and then create an app then verify
-
shrini-irccloud
Toot is the easiest
-
shrini-irccloud
Will start exploring other APIs
-
praem90
Facebook is something too cluttered and too many informations
-
shrini-irccloud
Yes. It became too tough
-
praem90
Toot?
-
shrini-irccloud
Mastodon is toot
-
praem90
Ohhh ok
-
shrini-irccloud
How is duruvangal book going ?
-
praem90
No progress today
-
praem90
We can connect if you want to setup those accounts later tonight
-
shrini-irccloud
praem90: I will check for them
-
shrini-irccloud
I will be busy on office calls for few more hours
-
praem90
Okay
-
Varun777
hi all
-
praem90
Hey VArun
-
goldayan
Hello all
-
goldayan
hello varun and praem
-
praem90
It looks like the dataset has been published to HuggingFace
-
praem90
Hey Gold
-
goldayan
If anyone interested in learning about podman (similar to docker but doesn't need daemon to run in background) redhat just release a podman book for free
developers.redhat.com/e-books/podman-action
-
goldayan
You can download lot of tech book like above for free legally in the following website,
freecomputerbooks.com
-
shrini
good
-
shrini
Varun777: share the dataset link here
-
Varun777
pream90: Yes prem
-
Varun777
shrini: same link which I have shared yesterday
-
shrini
Varun777: many people are reading our chat logs daily
-
shrini
they wont remember the chat :-)
-
shrini
giving links here along with the discussion will help a lot for any new reader
-
Varun777
ok shrini
-
Varun777
-
shrini
super. thanks
-
Varun777
shrini: for Kaniyam Foundation will you create dataset?
-
Varun777
from that I will write api to push in hugging face via hfapi
-
shrini
ou can puish there directly
-
shrini
you can Varun777
-
shrini
I am yet to learn the huggingface things
-
shrini
:-(
-
shrini
its all new to me
-
shrini
seems it is like git
-
shrini
-
shrini
this is also good site for books
-
sethu_payilagam
Hello All. Good day!
-
shrini
hello sethu_payilagam
-
goldayan
Hello sethu_payilagam
-
shrini
I had an issue with my gotosocial instance not showing some toots in tamil
-
shrini
asked about it in fediverse
-
goldayan
Huggging face is using git and for large files it uses a concept called git lfs (git large file system) i haven't used it personally though
-
shrini
it reached to gotosocial developer and got response as "found the fix. will add in gotosocial soon."
-
shrini
-
goldayan
Okay the issue is we are setting the content map key as en-us but the content in tamil.
-
goldayan
should we change the content map key to ta-in so it will better supported in other software right ?
-
shrini
That feed bot only uses the contentMap property and not the content property when publishing Notes, and GoToSocial currently only looks at content for content, and uses contentMap for language
-
shrini
its good to use both properties with correct content
-
goldayan
got it
-
shrini
another happy news
-
shrini
reported an issue at 2019 to creative commons license chooser repo. it got closed yesterday
-
shrini
-
shrini
small one line UI improvement.
-
goldayan
Have you upgrade your gotosocial server @shrini ?
-
shrini
yet to upgrade goldayan
-
shrini
too many things in my TODO list
-
shrini
trying to do them all, one by one
-
goldayan
Read the release section as there are some things need to done before starting the server because the db is changed. Last time i checked they told to backup the sqlite db and start. Also it is better to backup your db time to time to avoid issue while upgrading new version
-
shrini
yes
-
shrini
regular backup is what I am doing
-
goldayan
Nice (I need to do the same when i host gotosocial personally). Hope i will host one before this year ends. I have also poked into lot of stuff not able to do one thing completly.
-
goldayan
I was using org mode before for managing task but failed to follow after few days, here i am now. Need to start it again.
-
shrini
:-)
-
shrini
use org-mode to capture all tasks
-
shrini
I do only 3A, 3B and 3C tasks every day
-
shrini
all other tasks are moved to next day
-
goldayan
If you are using org mode to track the task. check out orgzly Revived for view/edit org docs in android it also contains widget that display agenda too.
-
shrini
my orgmode file is too big
-
shrini
mobile app can not handle it
-
shrini
I use computer for all the series tasks
-
shrini
mobile is only for communication
-
goldayan
I read about the flow 3A 3B and 3C from jhon wigley blog using org mode as daily planner.
-
goldayan
There is another way to handle the task it is called GTD.
-
goldayan
I want to tell you about this @shrini i know you are maintaining all the task in one org doc. What do you do once the task is complete ?
-
shrini
i mark it as DONE
-
shrini
thats all
-
shrini
once in quarter, will move some non used headings as subheadings of "archive"
-
shrini
heading
-
shrini
so that the org file is tidy and showing the current IN progress headings
-
goldayan
There is option in org mode that can archive the task. Like once the task is done you can press the archive it will move all the done task to another file if needed
-
shrini
yes, but I like to keep in same file :-)
-
shrini
so that I have everything on a same file
-
shrini
easy to backup and sync with disroot account
-
shrini
and in private git
-
shrini
It may not a be good in long run
-
goldayan
Yep. I plan to archive the done task now and then. Once the year is done archived file will be moved to different folder. This is what i planned.
-
shrini
thats nice
-
shrini
I keep the notes, credentails, links along with the tasks
-
shrini
so I refer the DONE tasks often using search
-
shrini
emacs gives options to search in multiple files too
-
shrini
but, I am going with lean plan
-
goldayan
Better to follow that works. I plan to pick one that looks interesting and plan on modifying to my taste and lazyness :-)
-
Varun777
Have anyone used cron job in GitHub actions
-
mohan43u
Varun777: for what kind of purpose you need a cron job inside github actions?
-
Varun777
To run theekkathir scrapping in GitHub actions
-
Varun777
-
Varun777
check this out
-
Varun777
how cron works in GitHub actions
-
Varun777
I have used cron in my Linux distros
-
Varun777
How it differs between each other
-
goldayan
I haven't worked with github action itself. Is github action supports cron? interesting...
-
shrini
actions will call the container on the specified timein its cron
-
Varun777
but timezone differs
-
shrini
goldayan: buy and read the book "eat the frog"
-
Varun777
they use UTC
-
Varun777
instead of IST
-
shrini
hmm
-
shrini
then use utc itself
-
Varun777
Which makes me confused on running cron in GitHub actions
-
Varun777
cron doesn't work on correct time which is given
-
Varun777
in GitHub actions
-
shrini
compare UTC to IST
-
Varun777
I have done shrini and set the time I need
-
Varun777
but it can't able to trigger on time
-
Varun777
Eventhough my syntax on cron was correct
-
Varun777
in .yml file
-
shrini
-
shrini
compare here
-
shrini
dont give any empty line above the cron
-
mohan43u
Varun777: I'm not sure github actions environment supports cron, your script should be capable of running a event loop to replicate cron functionality
-
Varun777
so what to do inorder to solve this issue in script
-
shrini
mohan43u: check the above link
-
goldayan
Okay i heard about the book. I will add to my list
-
shrini
Eat that frog gives practical items to work
-
shrini
which can be followed easily with emacs
-
shrini
all methods ends with identifying A jobs for the day and finishing them completely
-
shrini
but, we mostly like to do only E or N or Z jobs
-
shrini
hariharan: still awake?
-
shrini
divya: I hope emacs30 should be available as snap also
-
shrini
so that ubuntu and relatives can get it quickly
-
shrini
is that possible?
-
divya
shrini: I don't think so, but Ubuntu and relatives don't have latest versions of Emacs?
