sugi: sethu_payilagam might be using IRC bouncer(znc,nextcloud etc), this IRC Bouncer connects to the real IRC network, sethu_payilagam will connect to the bouncer from any device

if required, you can take break from IRC, till all comes to normal

shrini: rain is OK now, its cloudy sometimes drizzling, became normal.

we became only consumers of video and audio

the text skills is fading away

for you to check it quickly

sugi: it means the text message contains your nick, probably means they are directly responding to you

My workflow is very simple

I store all the content on one single file

with org-mode, we can shrink and expand the content

shrini: I have gone through mark down, and using Markdown Live Preview - online editor used for my sql queries (Jafer gave homework)

shrini: Now can I post it in git lab, wordpress can't show the .md file output,right?

you can mention any number of nick names

they all see the color change and notified, if they set notification

just type the first letter and press TAB to expand their names

sugi: ctrl-tab? I think you need to type first few letters if the nick then press tab, this will complete the nick, you can use any number of nicks in a message

When I learnt linux at 2005, ilugc people asked me to learn emacs too

but, i missed to learn fearing that it will be tough

because of that, I could not keep all the notes on single place

I was writing on multiple tools. online products, offline tools

every time, was trying different tool

all the old notes go with the tool itself

could not migrate, as they were not in plaintext

At 2021 only, got the courage to learn emacs

and felt bad on how I wasted few decades of notes with different tools

As all my notes are organized on one single file, it is always easy for me to traverse

I was reading about how taking notes can help much, in the above post in tamil

started to learn emacs and implemented the process of org-mode, to capture all the things I come across to remember

it helps me to capture tasks quickly with org-capture

org-agenda to show my daily TODOs

when I was working on consulting for multiple projects, I used this to clock-in and clock-out to capture the time I spend on each task for different projects

every month, I get a quick report on time spent on each project

wrote this easy tutorial to start emacs

few people use it on android

but its overkill

I even tried to sync my org file to mobile, use ot via orgzly app

but, it breaks the file, as mine is too long file

shrini: org file can be used through mobile, using orgzly

two way sync, is bad for my long file

so, I am staying with emacs on computer itself

got it. i too have faved the pain of conflict resolutions when it comes to keeping files in sync

shrini: I use webdev method in orgzly to sync the tasks, my file is not that big anyway

anyhow, I am using the mobile for communication and consumptions only. not creating anything with mobile

thanks for considering me for the organizing kanchilug meetings pleasure to do it. I don't know how much I satisfy the expectation of kanchilug co-ordinator still iam need to build my skills to leverage those people organizing. I'll start from call for speaker and meeting invite mails only. Incrementally I'll take it further. For scheduling the talk live and other stuffs i need some time. ;)
