or commandline clients like weechat or irssi

the web clients are bad. they disconnect often

Shirini, I have connected via WebIRC Libera

that will disconnect if idle

install pidgin or quassel or any other irc client for your OS

web clients are the bad ones

always use a desktop client for IRC

which can give you local logs of all the chats too

for all the major open source software, there will be an IRC channel

you can join them all and watch the discussions

though IRC is from 90s world, it is still good to hangout

by using IRC, we can embrace the power of plaintext for knowledge sharing and building a good tech community

all with very low bandwidth

emacs is a magical tool

I started using it around 2020

and never looked back for any other editor

the orgmode in emacs is helping me to manage the tasks very well

life became much smoother after I started using orgmode in emacs

it will be interesting to read them and we can learn tons of things by slowly reading them all

we can also restart some trainings over IRC

if anyone here is interested on sharing something over IRC for 20-30 min, inform here

we can plan for a training session and ask people to join

we have to make people to read and write text

all the video tutorials make us lazy to learn the real things

many people struggle to learn programming, write code, read docs etc

as they are not practising the eyes to read and write plaintext

the more we read and write plaintext, the more clarity we can get on our thoughts
